"Pure" by Abbie Gamboa - an intimate, peaceful album

Sometimes my commute from work to home takes up to an hour, and there have been some commutes where I've really enjoyed listening to this album. "Pure" is a worship album, but unlike a lot of other popular worship music it is gentle and soft, with just Gamboa's voice and some gentle guitar or piano. The quietness of the album blurs the line between worship and prayer, and so I find it has helped turn these commutes into times of prayer.
Although there is a lot of value in worship music that speaks from a corporate perspective (speaking in terms of "us" instead of "I" to emphasize the communal aspect of worship that takes place at church), in situations this where it's just me listening to the music I like the intimate one-on-one sense that she creates through the album. Every track is like a little window she gives us into her prayers to God. Some of the songs are even what she imagines God saying to her. She opens up about difficult things like anxiety, loneliness, and spiritual darkness.
It definitely will not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like the sound of how I've described it I encourage you to check it out!
My favorite songs: moonflower, dad song, i get overwhelmed sometimes, mountain air
